One Wiregrass city will look at placing a tight leash on the owners of dangerous dogs.
The Geneva City Council may follow a national trend of municipalities adopting a special pit bull ordinance.
Geneva City Council members have received complaints of pit bull dogs running loose on the streets.
The breed has received national news coverage following several incidents where the elderly and young have been killed by the dogs.
One such incident in Chipley, Florida claimed the life of a six-year-old boy several years-ago.
The Geneva Council is looking for input from the public.
Recently, the cities of Chipley and Samson have placed ownership fees and tight restrictions on those who keep pit bull dogs as pets.
