Hi, I was just wondering if anyone had really done their research on how poorly these type of laws have done in other areas? They are unfair, and tend to punnish law abiding citizens rather than those intended. Not to menion that outlawing a specic breed, and deeming a dog dangerous mearly because he is a supposed member of that breed is alkin to "racial profiling" in dogs. Not all "pit bull" dogs are bad or dangerous... Where does it end? How about tough laws penalizing individuals for not controlling their own animals? It is really outrageous, I thought that I lived in the USA! Furthermore, in todays economy and society isn't there more pressing issues that need to be dealt with? What is next on the agenda...

My family owns 2 pit bull dogs. They are protective, but just as playful as my kids. Our dogs would not hurt anyone or anything unless something was trying to harm our dog or a member of our family. ANY dog is as mean as the owner makes it. No dog should roam free, that is what a fence and a leash are for, but pits should not be singled out just because of the negative reports to the media. Pits are not even the first dog to be bred for fighting, where are the stories of that breed? You don't hear of it because society wants to put the blame on the dog instead of the owner. Pits are a beautiful, smart, and loyal breed. It is really sad that society has to see the bad things about this wonderful breed and do not get the chance to see what good this dog does. What of the other animal that are mistreated and become aggressive? This breed, as well as all animals, needs protecting, not discriminated against.

No body needs a pit bull dog, should be against the law to own one.You need to tell everyone to shoot one if they see one on the streets or any where......Thanks

Dogs should NOT be roaming free no matter what the breed. Those that want to own pits, need a license and complete a course in dog obedience training and a physiological evaluation for the human. And regular house checks for the dogs good and the community. And last but not least make sure they have at least an ounce of common sense. No clue where the resourses for all this will come from, the county has bigger matters to worry about, is short handed and the priority level is low, till another child is disfigured or killed. On a personal note, I have had the pleasure of owning a Pit Bull, smartest dog I have ever had the pleasure of sharing life with. After 30 years I still miss her.

i can plead my case for pitbulls all i want to and it will not change a thing, but here i go.i own a pit and he wont hurt anyone.he is a family pet and loves my children.he is protective over them. and then "Geneva City Council members have received complaints of pit bull dogs running loose on the streets." you mean to tell me that pits are the only dogs running loose in Geneva?i see dogs running loose all the time and no one says a thing.what about them>they can be dangerous as well.whats good for the goose is good for the gander.all dogs can be dangerous, not just pits but thats all the media wants to implicate.not everyone breeds pits for fighting.punish the deed, not the breed!
