Oil has been discovered in Geneva county.

Geneva Co.- Officials with Wiregrass exploration and production made the announcement today but they also say just how much black gold is really down there remains to be seen.
Jody Harper says last week the company re-entered as existing well near Slocomb that was first drilled in 1982.
Harper says its still too early to tell if the site will yield commercial quantities of oil and gas, but the company should have some answers within a week.
