COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) - Four people accused of trespassing on Fort
Benning during a protest in November are set to appear in federal
court.
The protesters were taking part in the annual demonstrations
against the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation,
formerly known as the School of the Americas.
The school at Fort Benning trains Latin American soldiers.
Protesters say it's linked to human rights violations in Latin America.
The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer reports that 77-year-old Father
Luis Vitale of Oakland, Calif.; 63-year-old Nancy Gwin of Syracuse,
N.Y.; 60-year old Kenneth Hayes of Austin, Texas; and 61-year-old
Michael Walli of Washington are to appear in court Monday.
They are charged with entering a military, naval or Coast Guard property and face six months in prison if convicted
