Appeals Court Says Shorter Sentence for Repeat DUI Offenders
In an attempt to clarify some of Alabama's drunk driving laws, a state appeals court has shortened sentences for those convicted of driving under the influence.

anyone that drinks & drives should be "condemned". do you have any idea what you are talking about? child predators are marked for life even if their time is served.people that are hell bent on getting in a vehicle after drinking should pay the price. first and foremost it is "illegal" to drink and drive.
You have GOT to be joking! This is RIDICULOUS! What can we do to change this? Do we have to lobby the legislature?
I think the change in the DUI Law is fair. Why should anyone be condemned for life when other more serious offences are handed out lesser penalties. Such as Vehicular Homicide not involving alcohol. Child predators are usually allowed parole after a short jail term. We need fairness in the whole judicial system with every offence being treated in fair manner. A recent case in Dothan makes my point a life taken by a reckless driver with little penalty.
