The investigation into the shooting of Gregory Hatcher near a cotton field in Hartford is ongoing- even without the help of the victim.

Sheriff of Geneva County Greg Ward says he spoke with members of Hatcher's family and they want to get to the bottom of what happened as well.

Dale and Geneva Counties District Attorney Kirke Adams says local law enforcement is working hard interviewing witnesses and following leads.

"I think it's important for the people of Geneva County to know that this case is not closed,” says Adams. “It is being investigated by Geneva County Sheriff's Office, they want to get to the bottom of it, I want to get to the bottom of it. I think the people of Geneva County deserve to know what happened and make sure the community is safe."
