BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Attorney General Troy King is spending two days campaigning across Alabama for Arizona Senator John McCain.
A new poll shows McCain competing with former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee for the lead in Alabama among likely Republican voters.
King says McCain impressed voters by not panicking when his popularity and campaign contributions dropped during the summer. He
says McCain showed the kind of sure, steady leadership that qualifies him to be president.
McCain has visited Alabama more often than any other presidential candidate. King says he's hopeful McCain will be back in the state before Alabama's primary on February 5.
King was in Birmingham and Huntsville today. He will be in Dothan, Mobile and Montgomery Wednesday to campaign for McCain.
