The Panama City Police Department will soon receive a Polaris Ranger 6-wheel ATV through a grant program provided by the U.S Smokeless Tobacco Company.

Investigators will be able to carry equipment to and from any crime scenes located in areas that otherwise would be very difficult to navigate on foot or by vehicle.

This type of vehicle will be especially helpful to the department after hurricanes when debris has littered roadways which are impassable by patrol cars.

The department will also be able to transport the ATV to other areas for mutual aid relief.
