Authorities have identified the woman murdered Sunday in Covington County.

Investigators say Veronica Martinez was shot multiple times.

Her body was discovered in the living room of a home on TT Clark Road in the Beulah community, just south of Opp.

Authorities say Harold Todd identified himself as the perpetrator of the crime.

Todd was released from the Covington County Jail on a half million dollars bond.

Does anyone really know what happen that night? Harold Todd if he remembers what he did.The killing of our mother, grandmother & great grandmother, someones freind,& someones neibhor, Not nice. Why Harold thought it was okay to end her life? She didn't get a trial, but her murder should.I do not know this man,nor do I care too ,but I do want to see his trial. After all he identified himself as the perpetrator of the crime,so it shouldn't take long to judge?

I say my sister is right we are all in shock that this has even happened. I don't think they should ever have let him out. It's possible he could do this again. After all what does he have to lose? Yes this is America and everybody deserves a fair trial. But seeing it was evident he did this the judge should have raised the bail a lot higher. He should be mentally evaluated and locked up until trial. I would be very nervous if this happened in my town.

I don't know who is the craziest, the man who killed his wife because she wouln't clean the house or the judge who is responsible for the bond being set allowing him to be released.

I am a relative of this woman and this a$$hole who killed her should not have been able to get out on bail. taking someone elses life is the worst thing someone could ever do. my aunt was not a bad person, she didnt deserve to die this way. no one does. he better not get away with this.

I would just like to know what judge in there right mind would allow this man to be released on bond.If he will kill once he will kill again. The judicial system in Covington county is about as crazy as it gets! It has been said that Mr. Todd said he killed this poor woman because she wouldn't clean the house. He also took someone in the house after he had killed her and said let me show you what I did. People that know himm say that he is a very ill tempered man and easily angered. It's just hard to believe that a judge would set bond since this lunatic openly admitted to killing her.

VERONICA MARTINEZ WAS MY MOM. I AM HORRIFIED OF WHAT TODD HAS DONE. I CAN NOT BELEIVE HE IS NOT IN JAIL. OUR MOM LOVED HER FLOWER GARDEN AND WORKING OUTSIDE. SHE WAS IN HER RETIREMENT YEARS AND HE TOOK THAT AWAY FROM. HOW CRUEL, HE DID NOT EVEN STOP AFTER ONE SHOT BUT SHOT HER MULTIPLE TIMES SO SHE WAS UNRECOGNIZEABLE. THE NEIGHBORS REALLY DO NOT KNOW MY MOM AS WE DO. SHE WAS IN AN UNFAMILIAR TOWN TO HER BEING THERE JUST 4 YEARS. MY MOM WAS GOING TO COME AND VISIT THIS YEAR NOW SHE IS GONE. WHAT ARE WE TO THINK OF THIS HORRIFIC MURDER. THE SHOCK WILL BE WITH US FOR EVER. HER DAUGHTER MARY
