Dothan’s old Opera House has completed phase one of a total renovation project.

A brand new roof was completed on the Opera House earlier this year as well as copper guttering and flashings.

There are several more changes that are still in the planning stages including new handicap accessible seating.

Architects are in the process of designing phase 2 of the full project.

General Services Director Larry Muench said, "First of all, we’re going to do some repairs to the interior. As you may know, the ceiling in the Opera House has some issues with the paint, a break in the fire system, and we found we are going to put in a new fire system to be up to code."
