A 23-year-old man is the first person in Britain charged in connection to the failed bombings attacks on London last month.

Police say the man (Ismael Abdurahman) withheld information about the July 21 attacks. They say he had information he knew or believed could help in the investigation, but kept it from investigators.

The charges came the day after British police freed another man in the attack probe.

Meantime, a London police spokesman says the force has been overstretched by the investigation, with thousands of officers deployed at subway and train stations across London.
