A Jackson County, Florida man is in custody after being suspect for robbing a bank in Marianna.

The suspect, 57-year-old John Hervey Tatum of Grand Ridge, Florida entered the Superior Bank in Marianna and gave the teller a note indicating that he had a gun and demand money.

He made away with an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing from the area headed south on Highway 71 in a Ford Ranger pickup track.

Officials say a deputy sheriff in the area spotted a vehicle matching the description and pulled the suspect over in a traffic stop, taking him into custody without incident.

The suspect is being charged with one count of robbery.

The investigation is ongoing.
