Within the last two-weeks, a Northwest Florida Law Enforcement agency has been targeting one of the fastest-growing drug problems in America.

Chipley Police Chief Kevin Crews says his officers have made several arrests related to the fraudulent use of prescription drugs.

In some cases, individuals are using phony prescriptions in order to purchase powerful pain killers like Oxycontin.

In other instances, suspects were arrested selling prescription drugs to narcotic officers.

Besides prescription drugs, Chief Crews says his department has seen a recent surge in crystal-meth related cases. A trend, he adds, that had been on the downswing over the last few years.
