Employees at the Dothan holiday inn south came together Saturday to help a co- worker they consider to be family.

84-year-old Lorene Wright, also known as Granny, has worked at the Holiday Inn since 1991.

Several months ago she was diagnosed with multiple terminal cancers.

Saturday, a benefit garage sale and carwash was held right outside the Holiday Inn. Residents stopped by to purchase items and make donations.

Employees say granny kept serving until she could no longer work.

All of the money that was raised Saturday will go toward hospice expenses.
