Some Ozark residents in a low-density part of the city are disputing a development that could change their neighborhood.

Residents living off Whittle Hudson Road near Fort Rucker in Ozark are disputing a possible high density residential development in their neighborhood.

The community successfully fought against addition of townhouses more than a month ago on the same nearly 10 acres of land.

They say bringing a large amount of lower-value homes will hurt their property value and drop the volume of their area.

Monday, the commission voted unanimously to pass the rezoning of the 9.8 acres to allow the development.

This means the city council will announce a public forum and then vote in the future on whether to allow it.
