    In order to promote safety, they were making sure that boaters had life jackets for each passenger and working equipment.

    Each boater passing inspection received a vessel safety sticker.

    The coast guard and park rangers hope this will reduce drownings and boating accidents.

    Hundreds of boats are expected to be out on the water tonight for the 4th of July fireworks displays in Eufaula and Fort Gaines.

    The Houston County Rescue Team is camping out on the lake this weekend so they can help in the event of an emergency.
