Nine-year-old Brody Upton, Rippen's brother, continues to fight for his life at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

A majority of the family is in New Mexico, the boys' home state. While the father stays in Dothan, he will be out of work.

A neurologist was performing additional tests on Brody this afternoon. He is still in a comatose state.
