The Holmes County School District approved a move to transfer a controversial principal back to the classroom this week.
David Davis was involved in controversy when the American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit on behalf of a student.
Eleventh-grader Heather Gillman alleged she and other students' rights of free speech were violated when they supported gay rights'.
After a trial in Panama City Federal Court, a judge ruled in favor of the students.
The Holmes County School District was ordered to pay out more than $300,000 in damages and attorney fees.
Davis has chosen to return to the classroom and teach American government and other classes.
Buddy Brown will return to the high school as principal. He's been working in the district's Bonifay office over recent years.
