Opp's new industrial park is alive with workers and prospects. Construction is underway laying water and sewer lines to the site near the intersection of the bypass and Highway 331.

Three separate projects are underway at the industrial park.

A Best Western Motel is just a few weeks from completion. It will be the first hospitality facility to locate off the Opp bypass.

An access road to the industrial park is being funded through a $600,000 state grant.

Mayor H.D. Wdgar says he's received interest from several unnamed companies looking at the park to possibly relocate.

He adds that the city council is also looking at building a smaller industrial park to serve as a temporary home for start-up companies in the area.
