The whereabouts of Elba businessman Pete Cash remains a mystery. Local and state authorities continue to compare notes in hopes of finding him alive.

Pete Cash has not been seen since shortly after 7 a.m. Monday morning. Authorities believe he was last on Highway 189, just south of Elba.

He was driving a silver 2007 Chevy Tahoe with an Auburn University tag, the number 85A2l.

Authorities say they have credible witness statements that Cash was last seen driving his truck near the Shiloh Baptist Church sign on Highway 189, often referred to as the Elba-Kinston Highway.

"We have been conducting a number of ground searches, going down creeks and rivers, and trying to follow dirt tracks on dirt roads. Looking for a clue to what might have happened," said Chief Deputy Ronnie Whitworth with Coffee Co. Sheriff's Dept.

With help from the dale county sheriff's department helicopter, authorities continue to do an aerial search for Cash.

Authorities stress, if you see Cash or know his whereabouts you should contact your nearest law enforcement agency.

The thing is, he could be anywhere, I do not suspect any foul play, I know the community. As far as the credit cards and bank info, no good, he has the kind of money to prepare for long trips, he could have offshore accounts, no telling when you have that kind of money moving thru your hands, he prolly ditched the phone, and the onstar is a great idea, but is it something that can be activated without user initiating it??? I am sure he'll be home for church this afternoon, everything prolly just got to him and he had to ride out for a little while, he'll be alright. But I do pray for Mrs. Mary and his children, he's they're rock.

Have the police even looked into his atm/credit cards, onstar, or phone records to see his last whereabouts?
