Thousands of dollars worth of counterfeit and pirated goods is off the streets.
Korey Jackson of Dothan is arrested for possession, sale and rental of a recorded device, which is a felony.
Houston County Deputies made the discovery of the fake goods after a routine traffic stop.
Investigators say they found 29 name brand purses along with 287 pirated DVD’s stuffed in three suitcases.
Deputies say Jackson admitted to buying the goods from a street vendor in New York City.
Authorities say his intentions were to resell them in Dothan.
“We have people out here who are legitimate business people, who are actually selling these type products whether it is music or movies or the purses. They're paying full price to get these in to turn them around and sell them as a profit,” said Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes.
“It definitely hurts the economy when someone is selling knock-off brand stuff and they're taking business away from the legitimate business people.”
Jackson was booked in the Houston County Jail under a $15,000 bond.
