A traffic stop in Ozark helped authorities catch a couple of suspected identity thieves.

While making a routine traffic stop on August 13th, Ozark Police arrested Montgomery resident Shelira Ligon for possession of credit and debit cards.

Ligon is wanted in Coffee County and may have charges spanning from the west to east coasts.

Authorities also arrested Allen Stoudemire, a Midland City resident who was running for a council seat in next week's election.

"Mr. Stoudemire was implicated during the investigation and it was revealed that he had possession of four, basically forged or counterfeit checks," Ozark Police Chief Tony Spivey said.

Stoudemire and Ligon were booked into the Dale County Jail.

They are both out on bond.
