A teenager charged with trying to kill two Dothan police officers earlier this year will stand trial as an adult.
Nineteen-year-old Andrevis Davis of Headland is charged with first degree kidnapping, 2 counts of attempted murder and one count of 1st degree robbery.
The charges stem from a shooting at the Hobo Pantry convenience store on March 28.
Two officers interrupted a robbery in progress.
Davis was critically wounded in the shootout but survived.
The officers were saved by their bullet-proof vests.
Davis applied for youthful offender status which would have meant lesser punishment, but Judge Lawson Little denied the request on Wednesday.
Davis is being held without bond in the Houston County Jail.
A trial date has not been set.
