Panama City man who went drinking and then went swimming in the Gulf of Mexico drowned Wednesday.

It happened behind the Sunrise Beach Condominiums on Front Beach Road around 2:45 p.m. afternoon.

According to Panama City Beach Police, 25-year-old Dave Gallienne had decided to go swimming after partying throughout the day.

He was with a group of friends who did not notice he was in trouble until they saw him floating that is when they called the police.

Rescue crews were not able to revive Gallienne.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
