It is racism. All you okie go around proud cause McCain got every county & the highest %. Thank god you redneck have no impact on the major part of the election. And he won with our you stinking okie votes. You all claim to be so holy whatever I have never in my life seen so many people with hate in there hearts angry cause a black man one. Majority of the people in OK especially the smaller towns are a bunch of racist cowards. Your a coward you fake & lie about it. So what McCain won OK. OBAMA IS PRESIDENT!! If you don't like it then get over it. You people & you know who you are should be ashamed of yourselves. I am so glad this state was not needed for him.

My hometown is less than 12K and the paper circulation is about the same as Supupla and Terrel newspaper. Like the other two towns--my hometown voted McCain too, but our editor had common and fair sense and published the presidential race with Barack picture. Newspapers should report history no matter if it is local or national, etc. www.bastropenterprise.com

I wouldn't be too quick to leap to allegations of racism. I don't know this paper's history, but many small local papers face a dilemma when deciding how to cover national news that most of their readers have already heard somewhere else. Some papers (especially the very small ones) adopt an all-local approach and don't cover national and state news at all; others try to make sure every national story has some kind of local spin (I actually saw one paper that ran the headline "Obama wins Wyandotte County, the White House"). Deb, in her comment below, has the right idea: First, look at the paper's history with regard to coverage of national and state news, then see if the election coverage is consistent.

It's a local newspaper, and I don't see why they would have to print a story that had been reported online and on TV for hours before residents even received their copy. People read local newspapers for school bus schedules, obituaries, classifieds, and town hall news. People crying racism, grow up. This has nothing to do with race, and it makes you look petty and ignorant to be crying racism even after Obama was elected.

I want to know the same thing as Deb wants to know. Were the 2004 and 2000 election results reported in this "newspaper" or not? If so, then Summer is a disgrace to his field and should be fired. If you print anything about the story, then you are supposed to print the WHOLE story.

I'm from Tulsa, OK which is not too far from Sapulpa. I'm so embarrassed that people this close to where I live could be so ignorant. Sapulpa has been backwards ever since I can remember and I guess things still haven't changed.

Let's look at the Bush Election and see what the paper said then. We all know what we will find. All I can say, is thank you for staying in that little town with your ignorant, bitter, hateful & negative attitudes, the real world is a better place with you not being a part of it!

I work for a small weekly newspaper in upstate NY and we will probably not publish election results. We never have. We only publish local news and never touch national news unless there is a direct local connection. We only mentioned 9/11 when we found someone who had been there. I do not know this newspaper so I am not defending them. I can simply attest that in some local newspapers a national election is not news no matter how historic. And I am not the editor so I did not make the policy.

I believe this is racism and this Newspaper should be boycott! IGNORANT!

What a crock. This gutless wonder, Summer, won't even cop to why he did it. This "newspaper" should close its doors.

We have a paper in Lebanon, Mo that failed to cover this historic event also, the Lebanon Daily Record. Here is a link to the public forum discussing this. http://www.ozarkregionalonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3528

People are afraid of the unknown. It is sad that solely because of someone's skin color, you could hate them. It is even more saddening that the media which will promote as well as print articles regarding sex, drugs and violence would purposely omit the CHANGE of a country. The election has made history not only for African Americans, but for the USA as a whole. These type of situations make me even more proud to be an African American due to the fact that no matter what you do or DONT do...we still do...YES WE CAN YES WE WILL AND YES WE DID!!!!! Its been a long time comin and a change gon come...It is here.

I guess the easiest way to resolve this issue is to look at the previous post-election editions of the newspaper. Was there no front page story about the winner of the 2000/2004 elections?

This election made history in the United States, you would think that a local newspaper (non biased) would want to print this type of news for the readers of the city. You the newspaper owner just proves that "racism" still exist. If Mcain won the election you would have his victory picture posted all over the front page of the newspaper. I tell you what.. You don't have to recongnize that we now have a African American President, and how unfortuante that is in the year of 2008. God Blessed our nation with change. If you can come to reality and change that perception of change then your life (newspaper editor) will be fullfilled with dispire instead of Integrity. You have made your stand to maintain ignorance in this country. I am sympathetic for all the minority citizens in your area. God Bless you all and I wish you all the strength dealing with people like that in your society. REPORT THE NEWS!!! STOP THE IGNORANCE. AMERICA HAS MOVED ON. CONGRATS OBAMA!!! IDIOTS
