Icy Roads Lead to Deadly Accidents in Alabama

Icy roads caused dangerous driving conditions in several Alabama counties.
drivers and emergency responders dealt with hazardous roads in Colbert, Lawrence, and Franklin counties on Tuesday morning.
A woman died in a wreck near Russellville.
State troopers say Jeanine Harris, 20, died in a crash on a slick road in Franklin County.
In Colbert County, the driver of a sport utility vehicle hit an icy patch on highway 20 at the Town Creek bridge and rolled over.
In Lawrence County, authorities shut down highway 157 near the Big Nance Bridge for about an hour and a half as road crews treated the bridge.
Five vehicles were involved in a wreck there, including a large passenger vehicle.
The national weather service in Huntsville issued an advisory for light, freezing rain and sleet.
