Joshua Allen, this season’s winner of the TV show “So You Think You Can Dance” will teach two dance classes at Troy University on January 12.

Allen will conduct an advanced class from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. and an advanced/intermediate class from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. A special autograph session will be conducted for paid dancers and observers from 8:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.

The fee for either dance class is $25 per class. The observers fee is $5. All classes and the autograph session will be conducted in the Wright Hall gymnasium on the Troy Campus.

“We are truly looking forward to having Joshua Allen on campus,” said Deborah Hicks, coordinator of dance for the College of Communication and Fine Arts’ Department of Theatre and Dance. “Bringing nationally known top-ranked dancers to campus has been part of our vision for our program all along. We hope Joshua is just the beginning of many more to come.”

Allen, 19, a Fort Worth, Texas native, walked away with a $250,000 cash prize and role in an upcoming movie after being named “America’s Favorite Dancer” on the Fox Broadcasting Corp.’s fourth season reality television show “So You Think You Can Dance.”

Reservations for the classes are now being taken in the Department of Theatre and Dance. For more information call the Theatre and Dance office at 334-808-6142.
