According to The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancies, half of United States pregnancies are unplanned.

Expectant mothers in the Wiregrass now have a place to find hope.

When a pregnancy is unplanned, it can be hard for a young mother.

"If someone finds themselves in an unplanned pregnancy, usually they're very scared they don't know what to do and they're pretty much overwhelmed," says Harriet Faulk, Executive Director of the Wiregrass Hope Group.

Nearly 1,000 clients visited the Wiregrass Hope Group this past year for both practical pregnancy help and for emotional support.

"In this situation for it not to be a place in her life that is devastating but to be a stepping stone,” says Barbara Bronold, the Director of their Pregnancy Center.

Ultrasounds are just one of the many free services offered at the Women's Hope Center.

They also offer free pregnancy testing and classes on childbirth, nutrition, parenting, and fatherhood.

"It may be that the young girl just needs help with having to tell her mom and dad that she's pregnant."

The Wiregrass Hope Group addresses the individual needs of families and women.

"It’s really getting into the heart of a young girl and what her problem is."

The wiregrass hope group is kicking off their baby bottle boomerang fundraiser to fund their pregnancy care center.

If you'd like more information on how to donate, volunteer, or find help you can call the Wiregrass Hope Group at (334) 793-5433.
