A Rosalia, Washington man is offering free rent to anyone willing to open up a grocery in the small town of 627, south of Spokane.

Several months ago, the farming town lost its only grocery store because of financial reasons.

While Rosalia didn't have all the conveniences of the big city to begin with, running out of the bare essentials like eggs, milk or bread now means driving up to 30 miles away.

Kelley Messinger is offering free rent in a building he owns to anyone willing to reopen a grocery store. However, the building needs some fixing up inside.

Messinger spoke with a distribution company and estimates it would cost up to 15-thousand-dollars to open a small grocery store in Rosalia.
