A business Beth Shiver and her late husband built together 30 years ago gone in less than an hour early Tuesday morning.

Ashford Fire Department learned about the fire around 7:30 Tuesday morning. When they arrived, the Shiver's Produce was fully engulfed.

"You could see smoke from Ashford when we left Ashford you could see black smoke boiling from Ashford when we left."

Chief Jimmy Posey with Ashford fire department says there are no signs as to what may have caused the fire, but Shiver says she may have an idea.

"I came to the front door and I heard him, I heard a shot so I said gosh, there was a white car down at my gate because I have a security gate and so he got in the car and left and went toward Georgia," said Shiver.

She says last summer suspects would come onto her property trying to steal copper. She thinks that may have been the same case Tuesday morning. However, officials are not saying whether arson is a possibility.

"At this time it is under investigation we have called in the state Fire Marshall’s office and they'll be the one that's doing the investigation," says Chief Posey.

Until answers come to the surface, Shiver says her business isn't going anywhere along with the memory she holds of her husband.

"This is apart of him and it's something that, he'll still be apart of it when I come back, I'm not going to let it put me down, I'm a strong willed woman."

Fire officials say there are three factors that are taken into account for state fire marshal to get involved:

First any type of suspicious activity; second the amount of money lost in the incident and third a fatality.

Shiver says she does have insurance on her business. She says she has no idea how much money was lost in the fire.
