This morning, a single-vehicle crash in Houston County killed a local man.
19 year old Corey Shane Jones of Pansey was traveling south in a 1997 Chevrolet pick-up truck when the vehicle ran off the road.
The initial investigation shows that the vehicle was traveling over the speed limit and that Jones attempted to bring the vehicle back on the road and lost control.
The truck rolled-over twice and landed in a pond ejecting him.
The crash happened around 3:30 a.m. about 2 miles south of Pansey on Houston County Road 75.
Jones was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor, and troopers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
