A mobile home park just south of Opp received heavy damage in today's violent weather here in the Wiregrass.
Just after 8:00 a.m., a storm blew apart two manufactured homes, and caused major damage to two others. Miraculously, no one was injured.
Shannon Adams was teaching school in troy when she received an urgent call from her mother. The violent weather moving across the western Wiregrass destroyed Shannon’s trailer, just south of Opp, in the Onycha community.
Khelli Seiler was inside her trailer when all of a sudden the winds began to howl, and the trailer moved from side to side. Miss Seiler knew it was time to take action.
At this time, volunteers with the Covington County chapter of the American Red Cross is helping the storm victims with food and lodging.
