It's no surprise that there were more people in the room than there were employers.

Because of the recent loss of jobs statewide, this event was just what many needed.

“I am concerned that I won't have money for my future wife and future children" says 19 Year Old Patrick Laakkonen.

People of all ages have been having a difficult time finding employment these days.
"Especially when you are young and you are trying to start out on your own and afford rent and bills" says 19 Year Old Kimberly Barnes.

There are those entering the work force for the first time, and there are some who found their current profession not bringing in the bucks.
"My job went to all commission and with the economy the way it is, it was hard to get people to buy life insurance" says Scott Grimes, a Job Seeker.

Though it may seem difficult to get a job in this tough economic climate, Monday's job fair contained many opportunities to one room.
"It's an excellent time to get into financial advising right now. It’s a good market to be in" says Arch Hodges, a Financial Advisor from Waddell & Reed.

"We are hiring LPN, RNs, therapists and others" says Faye Woods Human Resources Director, West Side Terrace in Dothan.

But instead of acting fast, some were thinking harder about choosing a job by weighing out all the elements.

27 year old Mahogany Davis says "Health care benefits are the first thing, and then my pay rate".

Another important part of finding a job is job security. Job seekers are looking for a job they know will always be there for them.

"There are many opportunities in aviation and medical area- also in industrial technology. There are many opportunities right now" says Pam Cutchens of the Alabama Career Center in Dothan.

Some area colleges also had their booths set up- during these trying times, some are opting to go back to school to develop more skills that will help them gain employment.

For those of you out there who could not make it to the job fair today, you can call the Alabama career center system for help.
Their number is 792-2121.
