"I am very thankful, I thank God. This is a blessing for me and my children"

A dream came true for an emotional Melissa Daniels on Sunday as coffee county habitat for humanity handed her the keys to her new home.

"We are moving out of a trailer and into a house, and it feels good because then the weather is bad, I don't stay in that trailer, I leave. I am scared of thunderstorms” says Daniels.

But the new house wasn't built over night. Melissa and her family had to help raise money and put some volunteer time in themselves,building.

"We built the fence outside and planted flowers. I am excited" says Melissa’s daughter Kendra Silar.

And others involved in the building process were amazed at how quickly and efficiently the frame and roof were put up.

"There were about 24 people that put this frame together in one day and then they had the roof on. We planned on them being here 2 days but it rained the next day. We would have had the roofing all done in 2 days if it had not been for the rain" says Keith Riegle, of the Coffee County Habitat for Humanity.

Local businesses also donated time and supplies to stretch the 35 thousand dollars raised.

The Elba Rotary Club, Coffee County Master Gardeners, and Whirlpool Appliances are just a few on the long list of sponsors that helped habitat board members make the project possible.

"They all came here one day and there was nothing. now, there is a house standing" says Kaye Whitworth of the Elba Rotary Club.

Around 4 o'clock this afternoon, the coffee county habitat for humanity also dedicated their 11th house in enterprise.
