Work is scheduled to begin Tuesday on a busy stretch of highway in southern Houston County.
The Alabama Department of Transportation will be resurfacing a six and a half mile section of Highway 231.
It runs between the Florida state line and Smithville Road, north of Madrid.
Plans include retro-fitting the bridge over Big Creek as part of the project.
Watch close at the posted speed limits and warning signs, traffic fines double in Alabama for violations when highway workers are present.
