One Geneva County official says he's “inundated” with complaints about stray dogs and cats.

At Tuesday's Geneva Commission meeting, Commissioner Johnny Windham says the county is violating state law by not having animal control.

Last year, a Hartford girl was nearly killed by several pit bulls.

Windham says it should be a wake-up call before another tragedy takes place.

The commission tabled the animal control issue until its first meeting in June.
