A new gym, a high tech game room and a sparkling pool are just a few amenities the new club on Fort Rucker has to offer.
It is something CW3 Brian Hayes and his family is pleasantly settling into.
"Hopefully this is the new standard the Army is setting for quality of life for families living on post."
Hayes is among many soldiers who are experiencing the new way of Army life on Fort Rucker with new and improved housing.
"This is an improvement but it's not where we need to be so we continue to work with Picerne to make it better for our soldiers and their families," said COL Yvette Kelley with Fort Rucker.
Colonel Kelley says so far the partnership with Picerne Military Housing has created 300 new homes along with 500 renovations to current living spaces.
It's all in an effort to bring more families on post.
"We want to get them on post, we want to make it better, we want to improve the housing, we want to improve the community activity area and we want to get them on post," said MG James Barclay.
Building new and updating homes, along with creating family friendly get together is doing more than helping the Fort Rucker community. It is giving something to residents that many are losing right now.
"Because of Picerne we have a lot of workers outside the fence that come here and help us construct these great facilities," said Kelley.
Giving Hayes a sense of security and relief when he comes home to his family after helping keep us safe.
"It's just so wonderful to come home and see that it's a nice house and be able to relax and unwind a little bit and knowing that they're safe and I don't have to worry about anything overflowing and flooding and breaking or leaking."
Officials with Picerne say they plan on building two more neighborhood centers on Fort Rucker. By 2013 they plan to have built and remodeled a total of 1, 476 homes.
