Houston Co. sheriff holds kids safety event
The Houston County Sheriff’s Office and the FUNZONE will be presenting “Kids & K-9” Child Safety Day this Saturday

The Houston County Sheriff’s Office and the FUNZONE located at 465 Westgate Parkway Dothan, Ala. will be presenting “Kids & K-9” Child Safety Day, July 12, 2009. This event will; (1.) promote child safety against abduction or loss in the Wiregrass (2.) will give the community the opportunity to become informed about the functions of the Bloodhound/ K-9 division of the Houston County Sheriff’s Office (3.) to raise funds benefiting the 832 K-9 program.

The 832 K-9 is a private memorial foundation founded in remembrance of Kody Snodgrass a Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy, the son of Duke and Angie Snodgrass. The foundation assists in providing trained bloodhounds to law enforcement agencies throughout the country. The bloodhounds are a powerful asset to law enforcement in tracking suspects, locating the lost or in the recuing the injured.

July 12, 2009 from 1:00 p.m.- until the Kids & K-9 Child Safety Day will be conducting a meet and greet with Duke & Angie Snodgrass of 832 K-9.

At 2:00 p.m. Child Abduction Self Defense Demonstration- center of skating rink.

At 3:00 p.m. Child Internet Safety Presentation- a question and answer session and a demonstration.

At 3:30 p.m. Child Predator/ Sex Offender Notification- Community Notification and safety tips.

All day- Fingerprint ID kits- rear party room.
