Dale County woman hospitalized after lightning struck a tree
An elderly woman is hospitalized after lightning struck a tree, sending it crashing onto a vehicle driving down the road.

An elderly woman is hospitalized after lightning struck a tree, sending it crashing onto a vehicle driving down the road.
It all happened at the intersection of County Roads 64 and 57, just east of Skipperville in Dale County.
Officials with the Dale County EMA office say just after 1 pm Friday afternoon, lightning struck a large tree, which fell on the passenger side of the vehicle.
The elderly woman was in the passenger seat, her daughter driving.
Officials are not releasing the name of the victim or the extent of her injuries.
She is being treated at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
