Students in Geneva County are taking a stand against drugs, alcohol and tobacco.

The Geneva County Nip-it Youth Leadership Team joined Janice Johnson speaking at high schools around the county.

Johnson is a former drug dealer and convicted felon.

Now she's sharing her story; telling students that making the wrong choices can lead you down a path of destruction.

"No matter what's going on around you, even if it's in your homes, your church or your community, you have the right and the power to make a choice to enhance your life,” says Johnson.

Students at Hartford, Slocomb and Geneva High Schools participated in the red ribbon week presentation.

The presentation was sponsored by the Geneva County Children's Non Profit Tobacco Grant NIP-IT, the Geneva County Extension Service, Spectra Care and the Geneva County Drug Free Coalition.
