A shooting reported near downtown Dothan early Thursday evening , but police say the incident appears to be a false alarm.
Just after 6:30 pm, Dothan police rushed to Lanier Street, just a block from Main Street, after receiving a report that a man had been shot in the face.
Authorities are not releasing much information, but sources at the Dothan Eagle tell News 4, investigators failed to find a victim or any evidence that a shooting took place.
This is the 2nd false shooting report in a week in Dothan.
Last Thursday, police responded to a call on Frazier street.
Again, police found no evidence of an incident.
