The Wiregrass Area Food Bank is hoping to reign in $25,000 from a unique promotion.

Starting Monday, Nov. 2 until Nov. 13th, Country Crossing is offering tickets to their first concert through the food bank.

A $5 donation or dropping off five cans of food will get you a free ticket to the concert featuring country music star Kellie Pickler.

The tickets are regularly $40 a piece.

Officials have 5,000 tickets to give away and say events like these really helps them out during their busiest time of the year.

“Our crunch time is always the holidays and a lot of the organizations realize that. We're looking for more income and we're also looking for more food. Country Crossing folks came up with this idea and we just so fortunate that they picked us,” said food bank Executive Director David Hanks.

Officials with the food bank say demand for their services are up 30% this year, but donations are also up 12%.
