SNL-WINDOW DISPLAY
NEW YORK (AP) - Wayne and Garth as Christmas ornaments? They're among the "Saturday Night Live" favorites that decorate the windows of Barneys' New York. There are two dozen life-size papier-mâché characters including the Church Lady, Roseanne Roseannadanna and John Belushi's King Bee. Simon Doonan, Barneys' renowned creative director, says he wants to have fun in this "dismal year." He hopes people will see the Coneheads in the window of the fashion mecca and smile.

APOLOGETIC ROBBER
WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - Sometimes saying sorry just doesn't cut it. An apologetic Kansas bandit is getting the max. Michael Maples has been sentenced 57 months in prison for a pair of March bank stickups. That's the longest prison term under federal sentencing guidelines. In both robberies, authorities say he handed the tellers a note apologizing and thanking them. The judge notes Maples has a long criminal record, dating back to when he was 17.

DOOR-TO-DOOR POT
BROWNSVILLE, Texas (AP) - Selling pot door-to-door might have seemed like a good idea. That was until the accused salesman knocked on a policeman's door. Authorities in Brownsville, Texas, charge Anthony Carrazco had three ounces of pot he was trying to peddle. According to a police spokesman, the 19-year-old finally knocked on the apartment door of an off duty officer. The officer said he'd be right back -- and went to get his badge and handcuffs. Authorities charge Carrazco also had a gun. He's now being held on $10,000 bond.

CHIPOTLE-LONDON STORE
DENVER (AP) - Fish and chips? No way. How about a burrito instead? London is getting its first Chipotle Mexican Grill. It will also be the first European location for the Denver-based chain. Company officials say they're looking at possible locations in Paris and Munich, too. The London burrito place is set to open next April. Wonder how guacamole sounds with a British accent?

ROCK PAPER SCISSORS-CHAMPION
TAYLOR, Mich. (AP) - Rock, paper, scissors -- champ! It took Tim Conrad five hours and nine matches to win the world Rock Paper Scissors championship in Toronto. The Michigan man ended up defeating his best friend, Tom Butkin, for the crown. Conrad's winning move was paper covering rock. He takes home $7,000, along with the title.

EDSEL REUNION
RACINE, Wis. (AP) - Gone but not forgotten. Edsel lovers are gathering in Louisville, Ky. this week to remember the Motor City blunder that went out of production 50 years ago. David Hooten plans to be at the old Ford Edsel plant. He's president of the Wisconsin Edsel Club. Hooten has a fully restored Edsel station wagon, one of the last off the assembly line. It weighs more than two tons and is 18 feet long. Hooten tells the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel the Edsel gets a bad rap. He says his whale of wagon handles well and gets 15 miles per gallon.
