David L. Bandstra age 52 of Elba, AL departed this life Friday, April 25, 2008 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL.

David was the director of the Raygene Burkett Workforce Training Center in Ozark. He was the Elba District 2 Councilman, served as a trustee and on executive board of the Alabama Electric Cooperative and was previously a volunteer firefighter with the Elba Fire Department. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elba. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Elba on Monday, April 28, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Dr. Rob Paul and Rev. Travis Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Level Community Cemetery Elba; AL. Visitation will be at First Baptist Church of Elba on Monday, April 28, 2008 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Burkett Workforce Center, 1204 Stuart Tarter Road, Ozark, Alabama 36360.

Survivors include Wife of 30 years Vicki Diane Bandstra of Elba, AL, Mother-Billie Carol Bandstra of Myakka City, FL, Sister-Tena Marie (Angel) Dominguez of Enid, OK, Brother-Mark (Jill) Bandstra of Myakka City, FL, Mother-in-Law-Johnnie Taylor Travis of Selma, AL, Sister-in-law-Pat Taylor Johnson of Milton, FL, Niece-Alecia Rea Bandstra of Nashville, TN, Nephew-Robert Bandstra of Nashville, TN, Nephew-Joshua Bandstra of Myakka City, FL, Nephew-Chance Dominguez of Enid, OK; numerous relatives and special friends. Mr. Bandstra was preceded in death by his Daughter, Summer and his Father Louis Bandstra.

Hayes Funeral Home of Elba, Alabama is serving the Bandstra family.

from ricky i want to stay vickie im so sorry for your lose but i want you to know he was a loving person he loved you vickie and to he nices he talked about you every day. how specail you where you where two him i just now how much he cared for you and vickie it,s going to be hard without him now and i dont now how to move froward know i cry whan i thank about him. i just miss i wish he was here with us but i want you to know he talked about every day to me. and i just want you we love you vickie your in are hearts. your wife to him and he funny person to be around he made me laugh all the time at work.it hurts that he gone but he will not be forgotten. and from me and my mom and my dad hearts are with you at this defect time. i want to stay thank you for coming to visted us at work and from all of us at vivian b adams school we love you and we care about you. you hang in there if you every need somebody talk to it can be me. lovefrom ricky neal of ozark alabama. we are all sad
