Mrs. Dorothy Granger Rich, age 75, a resident of Dothan (formerly of Cottonwood) died early Friday April 25, 2008 at Westside Terrace following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be at 10 A.M. Monday April 28, 2008 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with the Reverend’s Wallace Russell and James Earl Guy. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Southern Heritage directing.
The family will be receiving friends at Southern Heritage on Sunday April 27, 2008 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. At other times the family will be at the residence of a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Tim Weed, 3958 E. Cottonwood Road, Dothan,AL 36301. Flowers will be accepted.
Mrs. Rich was born on June 3, 1932 in Houston County the daughter of Dewitt and Minnie Mae Burton Guy. She was a caregiver for most of her lifetime and she was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include: Husband, Palmer Rich, Dothan; two sons and daughter-in-law, Gary and Beth Granger, Dothan; Dennis Granger, Ashford; four daughters and son’s-in-law, Cathy and Tim Weed, Dothan; Sheila Long, Dothan; Donna and Jeff Turner, Dothan; Sharron and Kim Calloway, Malone, FL.; three stepchildren, Glenn Rich, Debbie Lively and Jimmy Rich, brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Frances Guy, Pascagula, Miss.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Agnus and Leon Taylor, Albany, Ga.; Lucille and Ray White, Columbus, Ga.; eleven grandchildren, Shelley Granger, Brooke Granger and Shelby Calloway; Garrett Granger, Jared Weed, Jackson Granger, Brandon Blizzard, Michael Blizzard, Justin Andrews, Cole Turner and Aaron Calloway, great granddaughter, Laci Blizzard.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Westside Terrace Mulberry Lane Staff , Wiregrass Hospice and Dr. Edwin Morris, III.
