Jane Weathers died peacefully in her sleep during the night of April 29, 2008 at Wesley Manor.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2008 at First Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Bob Gross and Dr. Johnny Fain officiating. Private family burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to service time.

Jane Farmer Weathers was born in Dothan September 11, 1912, the daughter of Charles B. Farmer and Alice Anderson Farmer. She lived in Dothan her entire life except for her studies at Judson College in Marion, Alabama. She married Lawrence M. Weathers in 1931 and enjoyed working as a bookkeeper, first at Blumberg Department Store, then through the years at several insurance companies, retiring from Thomas Insurance Company. Her foremost occupation was as a wife and mother, an occupation in which she excelled.
Mrs. Weathers taught an adult Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church for over forty years. She enjoyed her church work and her church friends were very dear to her.
Mrs. Weathers was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Weathers; a daughter, Alice Weathers Shuff; two sisters, Margaret Farmer Jones and Elizabeth Farmer McBryde Carmichael.
She is survived by a daughter, Margaret (Bobbie) Weathers Dove (Earl), Dothan; two sons, Charles Lawrence Weathers, Sr. (Brenda), Dothan, Franklin Jordan Weathers (Pam), Texasville, AL; one son-in-law, Ron Shuff, Sr., Franklin, Tennessee.
She is also survived by ten grandchildren, John S. Dove (Judy), Dothan, Jane Dove George (John). Blount Springs, AL, W. Michael Dove (Caroline), Dothan, Amy Dove Short (Wade), Dothan, Charles L. Weathers, Jr. (Jo Ann), Dothan, Sheila Weathers Simmons (Steve), Dothan, Jonathan Weathers (Christie), Dothan, Marla Shuff Albert (Dan), Nashville, TN, Ron Shuff, Jr. (Kim), Franklin, TN, Jon David Shuff (Sasha), Brentwood, TN.
She is also survived by twenty-five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews including Martha McBryde Foy, Dothan, Mack Jones, Jr. (Ruth Ann), Columbia, MO, Miriam Jones Thomas, Moody, AL, and Theresa Adkison, Dothan.
She enjoyed her many friends in Assisted Living at Wesley Manor and was delighted to be chosen as Mrs. Wesley Manor for this year.
Serving as active pallbearers will be grandsons, John Dove, Mike Dove, Charles Weathers, Jr., Jonathan Weathers, Jon David Shuff and Ronald Shuff, Jr.
