Nina Kathryn Croom died Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 75.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the Faith Tabernacle Community Church with Reverend T.P. Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, May 16, 2008. At other times, the family will be gathered at the home of Rodney Crooms 117 North County Rd. 55, Ashford. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Faith Tabernacle Community Church 1665 Coe Dairy Rd. Dothan, Alabama 36301.
Mrs. Croom was born January 15, 1933 in Houston County Alabama, the daughter of the late Causey Brown and Camilla Alco Brown. She was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Community Church. She retired from Ansell Corporation after twenty years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Hermon Croom.
Survivors include: daughter, Ann Burkett and her husband, Dwight of Gordon; son Rodney Crooms and his wife, Sarah of Ashford; sisters, Inez Pate of Ashford; Martha Smith and her husband, Earl of Dothan; brother, Mack Brown and his wife, Dale of Phenix City, AL; four grandchildren, Chip Crooms and his wife, Shelley of Hammon, LA; Jodi Hammock and her husband, David of Robertsdale, AL; Kevin Burkett and his wife, Vanessa of Ashford; Keith Burkett, four great-grandchildren, Streed Crooms, Ella Crooms, Nathan Crooms, and Dezaray Burkett.
Active pallbearers will be: Chip Crooms, Jerome Pate, Terry Pate, Philip Dodson, Morris Jinks, and Jeremy Whiddon.
