Eunice Lee Peters Forehand, a resident of Ashford, previously of Slocomb, went home to be with her Lord surrounded by her loving family Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at her residence. She was 94.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2009 at First Free Will Baptist Church in Dothan with Revs. Steve Trail, Larry Adams and Chaplain John Withrock officiating. Burial will follow in Panther Creek Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Wicksburg with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral. The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2009 at Southern Heritage. At other times, the family will be at the home of her daughter, Robbie Forehand Hendrix, 745 Peach Farm Road in Ashford.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 2855 Ross Clark Circle, Suite 110, Dothan, Al 36301.
Mrs. Forehand was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Forehand, son, William (Bibb) Forehand, two brothers, and two infant daughters.
Survivors include three daughters, Margie Smith (James), Ashford, Faye Pierce (Charles), Cowarts, Robbie Hendrix (Malcolm), Ashford; four sons, Edward Forehand (Mary) Crestview, FL, Ernest “Sonny” Forehand (Carolyn), Geneva, Allen Forehand (Sharrel), Hartford, Paul Forehand (Vicki), Slocomb; three sisters, Ruby Sullivan, Dothan, Nellie Adams, Carrie Davis, both of Columbus, GA; brother, Fletcher Peters, Columbus, GA; daughter-in-law, Joann Forehand, Green Cove Spring, FL; a special family friend, Donald Sasser, Slocomb; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren also survive.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Carla Sammons and Tammy Skipper of Covenant Hospice.
Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother will be deeply missed and the memory of her beautiful smile will remain in our hearts forever.
