Strong Guyton Bruner, Sr., a resident of Ashford, died Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 86.
Funeral services for Mr. Bruner will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2007 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Reverend Todd Thorpe officiating and Southern Heritage directing. Burial will follow in Ashford City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2007. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 2855 Ross Clark Circle, Suite 110, Dothan, AL 36301. Mr. Bruner was born February 2, 1921 to Judge and Eddie Strong and was a lifelong resident of Ashford. He was a 1939 graduate of Ashford High School and a member of First Baptist Church of Ashford. Mr. Bruner worked for Equifax as a Retail Credit Investigator for 30 years before his retirement. His wife, Scottie Bruner, daughter, Jane Bruner Woodruff, and brother, Sam Bruner, precede Mr. Bruner in death. Survivors include four sons and two daughters-in-law; Guy and Linda Bruner, Woodstock, GA, Scott and Kerstin Bruner, Montgomery, Tim Bruner, Buena Park, CA, Mark Bruner, Montgomery; seven grandchildren, Sabrina Kirkland, Webb, Kevin Bruner, Atlanta, GA, Heath Bruner, Scott Bruner, Jessica Tidwell all of Montgomery, Melissa Bruner, Ft. Worth, TX, Levy Woodruff, Ashford; six great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff of Covenant Hospice and a special aide, Daniell Morales, for their care of Mr. Bruner. |
