| Ingredients Needed: 2 Cans Bush’s Red Beans 1 Small Yellow or White Onion (chopped) 1lb. Hillshire Farms Smoked Sausage (Sliced into bite size slices) ½-1 tablespoon Cajun Seasoning (I prefer Paul Prudhomme’s Meat Magic; you can also use Tony Chachere’s Cajun Seasoning, but use less of it.. it’s very salty) 1 – 1.5 cups of rice |
| Directions: (Quick meals for 1 or 2 folks) Empty Beans into a large pot, add two cans of water Put Rice on to cook When Beans start to boil, add onion and seasoning (to taste) and sausage Reduce heat to low, and add sausage Simmer until rice is done (20 minutes) or until onion starts to cook clear Add Rice, remove heat, and stir… Serve with Saltines or Garlic Bread (or your favorite soup/stew accompaniment). Total cost (Under $8.00) |
